Ukrainian company IMLA has unveiled the “Albion” robotic ground logistics platform, engineered for cargo delivery and task execution in challenging conditions directly within the combat zone.

Key Points:

  • The “Albion” robotic ground logistics platform was developed by the Ukrainian firm IMLA for efficient cargo delivery in difficult environments.
  • The platform features excellent maneuverability, a modular design, and the capability to operate under threat from enemy FPV drones.

The primary advantages of “Albion” include its superior off-road capability, modular construction, and its ability to operate amidst threats from hostile FPV drones.

The platform utilizes a 4×4 all-wheel-drive configuration and weighs 320 kg. It is capable of transporting up to 400 kg of payload, and during trials, it demonstrated operation with a peak load mass of up to 600 kg.

The drop-down sides allow the platform to be adapted for specific missions—ranging from the delivery of ammunition and equipment to the evacuation of wounded personnel or the transportation of other gear.

“Albion’s” cruising speed is 16 km/h, while its maximum speed reaches 20 km/h. Propulsion is provided by four electric motors with a combined power output of 7.2 kW.

A crucial feature of the platform is its cross-country performance. Low-pressure tires with a diameter of 66 cm, coupled with a ground clearance of 390 mm, enable it to confidently traverse rugged terrain even when fully loaded.

The power system comprises two quick-release lithium-ion batteries with a total capacity of 11 kWh. These can be swapped in field conditions by a single person within minutes, requiring no tools.

Furthermore, the batteries can be recharged from a generator while the platform is in motion. This setup effectively transforms the platform into a hybrid system, eliminating range limitations.

To ensure stable control, “Albion” is equipped with three independent communication channels: TBS Diversity, Starlink, and HotRC for short-range operations. Operator situational awareness is facilitated by two cameras, one of which is a thermal imaging camera with remote control capabilities.

If necessary, the platform can be fitted with the “Pitma” electronic warfare system, featuring dynamic frequency selection within the 300–6000 MHz range, providing protection against FPV drones.

In the future, this is expected to enable “Albion” to autonomously return to base after losing communication or to navigate pre-scanned routes without operator intervention.
